rebloggin this again because since i’ve been coloring comic pages, i’ve been thinking about just how much I like these color palettes!!!!!!! What I love about them is how a lot of them are palettes where, if you described them to me, or just did a simple color bar of them, I’d think “oh please god not those colors together!!”
Hulk purple and green?? Orangey brown and light green?? Pink, purple, and bright blue?? But whoever did these palettes knew just how to break up the colors with something else- a bit of orange, a beam of yellow light, large areas of black- to make everything NOT look oversaturated and garish and vomity like so many overambitious animated film color schemes. instead these all read perfectly, transition well into each other, and overall are just APPEALING and BALANCED and INTERESTING!!!!! YARRRGH!!!!!! HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!!
